A mother’s blessing with MATRIA Wellness is a deeply nurturing and intentional gathering. Created to honour a woman as she transitions into motherhood. This ceremony offers a calm, supportive space to feel seen, held and celebrated.
A mothers blessing is a sacred and soulful celebration honouring the beautiful journey into motherhood. This ceremony brings together mother-to-be and their closet circle to surround her with love, strength and support as she prepares to birth her baby and herself.
Whats included
Each blessing facilitated is unique and heartfelt, with intention, ritual and connection woven in. I create space for the mother to be seen, held, nurtured and celebrated.
Opening Circle:
Begin by gathering together in a welcoming circle, sharing a nourishing herbal tea or ceremonial cacao. This gentle ritual allows everyone to arrive fully, connect with one another and set heartfelt intentions.
Bead birth necklace:
Guests bring a bead that they are called to or that represents a wish, blessing or strength they hope the mother carries with them to birth. These beads are threaded together into a necklace that becomes a meaningful keepsake and a source of comfort and empowerment during labour.
Red string binding ceremony:
A heartfelt connection ceremony where a red string is tied around the mothers wrist while a blessing is spoken for her birth journey. Guests also tie a string around their wrists to symbolise the holding and support of the mother as she nears birth.
Alter creation:
A sacred altar is created using crystals, flowers and candles as a beautiful focal point throughout the ceremony. You may like to add personal and meaningful items that represent your pregnancy journey.
Meditation:
The group is guided through a grounding meditation designed to support the mother and help her to connect deeply with her baby, body and innate wisdom. This practice encourages relaxation and trust as she prepares for labour and birth.
Candle ceremony:
Each guest has a candle that is lit from the mothers, symbolising the circle of support surrounding her. Each candle is then lit again when the mother enters labour until the arrival of baby.
